Hello all! It has been TOO long since I have posted. The good news is , moldhopetwork.org has been EXTREMELY BUSY! Thanks to all of you who are passing on the word about www.moldhopenetwork.org so we can continue helping mold victims and their families. We most recently had our own bout with a MAJOR water leak when our bathroom bathtub faucet BUSTED! It was a lively event to say the least! I just THANK GOD for Thieves Essential Oil. This oil is a FANTASTIC antifungal. I have been diffusing it since last Saturday. Mold sure does NOT like this oil! Indoor Toxic Mold Awareness Week in TN Sept 20-Sept 26 2009
In keeping with the NATIONAL INDOOR TOXIC MOLD AWARENESS MONTH Sept 1-30, 2009, Sharon Pawlak- TN Toxic MOld State Representative/National Indoor Mold Society and www.moldhopenetwork.org will be hosting NATIONAL INDOOR TOXIC MOLD AWARENESS WEEK in Tennessee.
Sharon and a team of volunteers will be at KROGERS Hgwy 70 Dickson TN SUN Sept 20, 12pm-4pm and Mon Sept 21, 10am-2pm handing out GOOD information on mold and mycotoxins and disease.
On TH Sept 24 an Friday Sept 25th- she will be at SAV-A-LOT off Hgwy 100/Rite Aid Plaza in Centerville, TN from 10am-2pm. Letitia Peters, Executive Director of the National Indoor Mold Society (headquartered in New Jersey), is scheduled to assist Sharon at the information table.
Come on down and get some GOOD information on mold and mycotoxins. What you don't know may KILL you!

2009 mold brochure from the World Health Organization
The World Heath Organization has out a 2009 Mold brochure. One of the opening sentences states, " excessive dampness and mould are a threat to health." Not only can mold be a threat to your health, it can cause DEATH. Shame on WHO for not EMPHASIZING that mold clean up is better left to Air Quality Professionals with Personal Protective Gear.
HOWEVER, this brochure emphasizes that the consumer needs to detect and locate WHY they have mold in the first place. In addition, you will not find the word BLEACH anywhere in this document. It even mentions NOT to use biocides and chemical disinfectants as these can be toxic to the occupants.

Let's discuss the difference between Mold Allergy and Mold Toxicity. Let's also establish the fact that there is a magnificent difference between the two. This is the difference that the conventional doctors who have their head stuck in the ground and the non believers get confused about. This is what the doctors are confused about, so they end up treating most mold sufferers with an allergy medicine, which only suppresses the real problem, giving the toxicity a chance to work further in our bodies, BECAUSE THEY THINK THAT THEY ARE TREATING AN ALLERGY. When we mold sufferers tell people that we have been exposed to Toxic Mold and this toxic mold has made us sick, they think that we are just talking about Mold Allergy. Their response is mostly, "Oh yes, I have sinusitis, and suffer from allergies too." Now, we never mentioned anything about us having allergies, we said we are really sick from toxic mold, and what we really mean is that our bloodstream has been overcome with the molds' toxins, which are migrating to different organs of the body. Folks, there is a big difference in Mold Allergy and Mold Toxicity. If people would listen and realize that when we say Mold toxicity, they would realize and hear that our bodies are "TOXIC".
Let's discuss the difference in these two very different diagnoses:-
Firstly allergy symptoms to mold would include some of the following symptoms: - asthmatic symptoms, sneezing, nasal stuffiness, running and itchy eyes/nose, watering/itchy, eyes, respiratory symptoms such as wheezing, coughing, and itching of skin.
Toxicity symptoms are vast and may include some or all of the following:- out of the norm headaches with great intensity and frequency, tingling and numbing of the extremities, tightness in chest, chest pains, chronic fatigue, dizziness, off balance, muscle in coordination, tremors, bleeding in the lungs, burning in the lungs, nausea/vomiting, suppression of the immune system, flu like symptoms, red eyes, hives, swollen eyes, face and lips, muscle spasms,/cramps, burning feet, damage to internal organs, central and peripheral nervous system damage, demyelination of nerves, systemic infection, irritability, personality changes, memory loss, cognitive changes, speech problems, anaphylaxis, candida meningitis, aspergillus meningitis, and even death. The toxic effects from these mycotoxins have similar toxic effects from poisoning. The mycotoxins produced by molds are so deadly that they were used in biological warfare. These toxins are also neurotoxins, which is why they are able to affect the neurological system and central nervous system. These mycotoxins are also cytotoxic, meaning that are capable of disrupting various cellular structures such as our membranes and can interfere with vital cellular processes such as protein, RNA and DNA synthesis.
The COMPARISON:-
People who are suffering from mold allergy, complain more of the symptoms that hay fever produces as described above under "Allergy Symptoms". Allergy sufferers mostly describe their experience of being an annoying nuisance, instead of being complex, or as the worst thing that has ever happened to them or as disgustingly devastating!! These "ALLERGY" symptoms are more common, easy understood, easily read, and comprehendible, where as the "TOXIC SYMPTOMS", "US TOXIC MOLD SUFFERERS" have are misunderstood, not easily read, and much more complex, SO most people, including doctors, think that the symptoms are just in "OUR HEAD"!!
The symptoms that "US MOLD SUFFERERS" display are not understood because the symptoms are out of scope to what you could EASILY observe, and it might even be a challenge for the sufferer to explain his/her symptoms and how he/she feels, in order for someone to understand. So most times, we are misunderstood, misdiagnosed, and are believed to have a mental problem. This is also because of the strange symptoms this disease takes your body and mind through. Trust me I know! Really, it is not that hard to understand. If the listener would just listen hard enough, he would understand that what we are describing in our efforts are "PRECISE" symptoms of "TOXICITY". The symptoms being described are toxicity symptoms and not just common symptoms from the flu or a cold. When you listen to the difference in what the sufferer is describing you would realize that the he is describing his/her experience as something more on the verge of a hellish nightmare and NOT something of a simple annoyance that you can easily rid yourself of.
Another observation is--------once the sufferer knows that toxic mold has been making them sick, you'll find that they somehow become frantic in their efforts to rid them of what's making them sick, where as an allergy sufferer might just look as the mold as just a nuisance, because they are not suffering from the toxic effects of this leprosy (mold is in the bible as leprosy) and it hasn't posed DIGUSTING devastating affects to their health, career, family life, social life, brought financial burdens and stresses upon their once settled house hold or diminished the quality of life they once knew.
Now that's the difference!!!

As I was going through some documents, I came across some state statistics on mold losses on insurance claims that I thought some of you might find interesting.
Keep in mind when reading this list that CLIMATE is not the only factor in mold cases.
Poor Design and inferior construction materials must be taken into account.
